News and Events:

What are the classes really like?
Classes are collegial, fun, non-credit, with emphasis on conversation. There are NO tests, exams or grades.

Can I get credit for the class?
NO, the classes are for the purpose of enrichment.

I can't make it to class at the scheduled time -- can you adjust hours?
No, unfortunately not. Our times are limited by the availability of rooms on campus. We can only request campus classrooms after regular credit courses are scheduled and this limits us because of the current space shortage on campus. We try to schedule the classes at a time convenient for both faculty and staff which is either at the beginning or end of the day, or over the lunch hour.

Can my spouse take a class?
Yes, if there is space available after CU faculty, staff and graduate students have registered.

Can I get a refund?
No. The $65.00 is non-refundable unless the class is cancelled. We only have enough funding in the budget to support 5 classes. When we commit to pay the instructor it is based on the tuition that we have collected. For this reason we cannot refund the tuition after we have confirmed this semester's offered courses with the instructors. If you are unsatisfied with a class you may switch to any other class during the same semester.

What classes should I take?
The level one classes assume no previous knowledge or exposure to the language. Each higher level is a continuation of the previous semester's 20 hours of classroom instruction. If the class you signed up for is too simple or difficult you may switch to another class offered during the same semester or another language. You may also wish to contact the instructor for further guidance.

Are textbooks mandatory?
No. The instructors may recommend a textbook or provide other materials. It is not mandatory that you purchase the textbook. Contact your instructor if you have specific questions.

Do you accept credit card payments?
Unfortunately not, we investigated this possibility and found that it would increase the cost of the courses significantly.
